Reliques de quartz dans une nodule de chaux dans un mortier médiéval. La chaux était probablement produite à partir d’un « Kieselkalk » (calcaire silicieu).
Orange = quartz; bleu à violet = produits de réaction du quartz et de la chaux; beige = liant. Lumière transmise polarisée et analisée et déplacement λ.
